A huge red flag, unfolding slowly, symbolized Meyer Intelligent Factory's official operation on last year's Nov. 29, with an investment of hundreds of millions yuan. All production lines are under orderly running and the outcome of intelligent manufacturing has been witnessed after one year's operation.
Meyer Intelligent Factory, covering an area of nearly 70,000 square meters, works for the part assembly and final assembly of color sorter, dental CBCT and other core products. Around 20 new automatic and intelligent production lines and unmanned production workshops for core components such as maglev ejectors and circuit boards are built in the first stage. It features high quality, high efficiency and more environment-friendly. The factory aims to change the traditional manufacturing model by the engineering of design, thus improving product reliability, production efficiency and reducing resource consumption. It provides a forward-looking solution for the high-quality development of the industry.

Days ago, Chinese government ministries jointly issued the Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration Action Implementation Plan, proposing to build a batch of intelligent manufacturing demonstration factories with high technical levels and strong effects in various sub-sectors by 2025. Meanwhile, the State Grain and Reserves Administration also issued the Grain Machine and Equipment Improvement Action Plan (Trial). It aims to improve the level of automatic processing equipment for high-quality grain and oil and promote the deep integration of grain machinery equipment manufacturing technology with digital and intelligent technologies, thus upgrading the grain machinery equipment industry. To fully promote intelligent manufacturing, Meyer is building another intelligent factory. It includes the coating and sheet metal process, taking up an area of nearly 100 acres and an investment of about 360 million yuan. The intelligent sheet metal flexible bending center in the building intelligent factory, as the first equipment landing in Anhui Province, will produce sheet metal workpieces of different specifications like a “printer”. Taking the sorting chamber panel as an example, the center only takes 3 seconds to bend a flat plate, and the whole process will be over in just 45 seconds. But if operated manually, it spends at least 5 minutes to complete by a skilled worker. So the efficiency is dramatically improved and products' consistency and reliability are well guaranteed. In addition, spraying robots and the digital coating management system will be applied in the new intelligent coating workshop. It will increase quality, efficiency and save resources, achieving the State's goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
Reviewing the past, Meyer has been committed to creating value for customers. Today, besides sticking to customers' value, Meyer aims to make products more reliable and manufacturing better. Given that days' round-to-clock processing is quite common in customers' factories, the most important for Meyer color sorter is the stable operation. It is difficult to fundamentally improve product reliability through intelligent manufacturing. Compared with other industrial equipment, the color sorter involves four aspects of optics, mechanics, electricity and software and more than 1,000 parts. Besides, the specifications, structures and attributes of each part are quite different. So to realize engineering and automatic production is hard. Due to no precedent to learn from when building intelligent manufacturing at first, Meyer pioneered a new path through lots of research. By platform, standardized and modular design, Meyer increases the common rate of parts from 20% to 70% and over 70% of the parts have been under streamlined and automatic production
