Final products’ quality and carryover of reject are two critical factors of sorting performance. Generally speaking, good product could be gotten after three sorting processes. Take Meyer AI tea sorter as an example, three-stage tea sorter sorts out stalks and yellow leaves only once. Secondary sorting is needed for lower carryover of reject. Four-stage tea sorter sorts out stalks from second stage twice, while sorts out yellow leaves from first stage only once. Five-stage tea sorter sorts out both stalks and yellow leaves twice through fourth stage and fifth stage individually to reach entirely separation.

So far, some five-stage tea sorters of certain brands could not realize the entire separation of good products, stalks and leaves.
